About Me

Brook Taube is the founder of numerous multibillion-dollar firms, two of which were sold to the public through initial public offerings on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). After starting his career in banking with Bankers Trust in the early '90s, Brook Taube has spent the better part of the last quarter of a century establishing and growing successful financial institutions. These organizations have invested in over 500 other businesses across North America, helping to launch new ventures and spawn the creation of thousands of jobs in over 35 distinct sectors. In addition, many of the most prestigious Wall Street firms are primarily staffed by people he has trained.

Brook Taube and his family currently reside in Wilmington, NC. After more than 25 years in the fast-paced environment of New York City, he relocated to the slower pace of North Carolina in search of a better work-life balance. His family has four children (three boys and a girl), two brothers, and two sets of nieces and nephews.

By 1992, Brook Taube had graduated with a bachelor's degree from Harvard University. Brook and his siblings inherited their parents' dedication to learning. He attended public schools in New Hampshire from kindergarten through high school before enrolling at Harvard, where his mother was a special education teacher. His father's work spanned academia, law, and the judiciary, focusing on mental health policy, family law, and education. Brook Taube has committed to the importance of education in his personal life and his charity work.

As a seasoned and successful business owner, Brook Taube has worked primarily in the financial services industry and ventured into the healthcare and technology sectors. Recently, he backed an organization called Progressive Therapeutics Inc. (www.PTI.life) that aims to boost the mental health of millions of people throughout the world. PTI first concentrates on women's mental health issues but is working on solutions for various mental health issues.

Also, Brook Taube has been collaborating with startup tech businesses to develop norms for the ethical collection and protection of data, helping to shape the industry's future. Finally, companies with expanding teams can benefit from Brook Taube's strategic advice and assistance in gaining access to money, as he has over 30 years of experience in these roles as an executive, board member, and investor.

Since he was young, Brook Taube has greatly valued being involved in his community. Brook Taube, whose father was a Social Welfare judge and whose mother helped numerous children with special needs, is actively involved in and provides financial support for initiatives that provide access to quality healthcare and educational opportunities for all.

Brook Taube is dedicated to promoting environmental well-being, early childhood education, and cutting-edge approaches to mental health worldwide. In addition, both he and his wife have long been advocates for expanding access to Memorial Sloan Kettering's world-class cancer care. During the past two decades, Brook Taube has donated millions of dollars to these causes.

There is a wide range of activities that Brook Taube enjoys outside of the office. He finds that engaging in hobbies and activities helps him maintain stability and composure, which are assets in his professional and personal life.

He has played the violin and viola for more than 45 years because of his devotion to music. Additionally, he is a skilled guitarist and mandolinist. His children share his passion for music and have taken up the guitar and piano. He's been involved with the New York Philharmonic and the New Amsterdam Symphony as a member of their Board of Directors. He has been a dedicated patron of the arts for many years because of his deep appreciation for music.

His investments have consistently focused on maintaining a healthy mind and body, so it's no surprise that many of his hobbies have the same goals. Bicycling (on the road, the mountain, and the gravel) is a passion for Brook Taube, and he regularly competes at the amateur level in both U.S. and international competitions. Now he competes for the New York City-based team Dave Jordan Racing.

Brook Taube is a world-class musician, a dedicated cyclist, and a water sports enthusiast who enjoys playing tennis, golf, and downhill skiing with his family. For as long as he can remember, Brook Taube has been a voracious reader, devouring books on a wide range of topics, from current events and history to science and religion and biographies of all stripes.
